Vulnerable Servants of God
I began reading a new book this afternoon. "Preaching the Story That Shapes Us" by Dan Boone. Although I have gathered by the title and brief content the book is geared toward shaping styles of preaching I came across some nugget of truth. Maybe more like a boulder then a nugget but regardless I found myself returning to the idea throughout the day. Usually when I can't wrap my brain around something I will either journal or blogged it. So here you go I'm jumping in with both feet to this whole blog thing.
Boone makes a statement on page 33 of the book, " We would like to be answer - men and answer - women, but we are vulnerable servants of God. Our calling places us squarely in the middle of a fragile world with nothing but stories to tell". I so want to be an answer - men. I want to counsel people and see them set free. I want to pray over people and see freedom in lives. I want to deliver messages that will inspire people to live differently. I can do none of this until I realize that I can do nothing without God. For each us the concept of being vulnerable carries its own definition. However we all have of stories to tell. What is your story? Are you ready to tell your story. Each of us has a story and every day God gives us a new story to tell.
What is your story? Are you ready to share? Will you share your story?
Lets hear it leave your story below.
